Challenges

  • Coordinating a large number of internal stakeholders to reach a common language about the product and company.
  • Bridging the gap, and then leaping over, from being a Marketer to a Webflow Dev.

Lessons learned

  • As a client, front-loading the work (i.e. having the content ready, knowing what you want) is crucial for a speedy and successful delivery.

Worth mentioning

  • The website was built in Wordpress.

I did not build edrone’s website – it was developed by mohi.to. My role was providing everything they needed to do their job well – URL structure, concepts and key visuals for each page, and web copy.

This website was the outcome of many people working together. From our side, the CMO supervised the process and was the main point of contact with the agency. My responsibility was ensuring the website adequately reflected the product and the company’s branding. To achieve that, I collaborated with multiple stakeholders such as our Brand Designer, SEO specialist, Customer Support agents, and the CEO.

Front-loading the work before handing it off to the agency was crucial – we had several discussions about the website's strategic requirements and carefully refined the copy over many rounds of revisions.

Providing a clear vision and detailed briefing set the agency up for success. The project went smoothly, delivery was quickly adjusted and approved.

First things first: which pages do we need now? Which ones can wait? What will the URLs look like? What about the different language versions?
When writing web copy, I like to turn the document into a rough wireframe. This helps to visualize how the text will interact with other elements such as images and buttons.
Communicating features and benefits is always a challenge for SaaS, especially in a crowded sector such as MarTech. I did a lot of research to find the best way forward.
