The beginning
I was born and raised in Curitiba, Brazil. I’ve always loved drawing, so when the time came to pick a field of study, Design was an obvious choice. At 19 years old, I went to Berlin for a year-long exchange program. This transformative experience forced me to leave my comfort zone in every way.
I spent the months between finishing high school and starting university as an apprentice at a tattoo shop. However, since I was 17, I didn’t get a chance to tattoo anyone – not even myself :(
Developing skills
Right after university, I landed a job at a franchise chain of craft beer shops. I was employee #2, so apart from all the Design work, I also helped with a bunch of other things, such as Marketing. Turns out I had a knack for it, and within 4 years I helped the firm grow from 5 to 63 stores.
I got heavily involved with the beer industry during this time. I even became a Beer Sommelier (ranking #5 in a national competition) and participated as a certified judge in national and international beer competitions.
Going solo
It quickly became clear that my Marketing skills were in demand among growing companies so I started taking some freelance work on the side – mainly branding, social media, and paid ads. In 2018, I decided to focus on that full-time.
The best part of this job was learning about different businesses. My most unusual client made honey from stingless bees native to South America. Their honey tastes amazing, by the way!

Building a business
Working as a freelancer gave me a taste for entrepreneurship, so I started a new business – the first book publishing company in Brazil to focus exclusively on books about beer. As every small business owner, I did a little (or a lot) of everything. I worked my butt off but learned a ton.
I met my business partner by chance. We had contacted the same U.S.-based publisher in the same week, and they introduced us to each other. We lived 700 km apart and ran the company remotely, rarely meeting in person.

But why Poland?
What to do during a global pandemic? Well, I thought it was a good idea to get married and move to another country :) We chose Poland for reasons that make sense but would make this story too long. Anyway, a Krakow-based startup wanted to expand into Brazil, and I was the perfect fit to help them. 3 years later, I moved on and started working for a Warsaw-based software house.
Learning Polish was, is, and probably will always be the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. But I love a good challenge!

A new beginning
At first, I only dipped my toes in No/Low-Code because my job required it, but I soon got hooked. Eventually, I realized there was no going back, so I left behind 10+ years in Marketing to pursue this exciting new career. There’s no better job than building cool stuff all day!
2024 was also the year I fulfilled the lifelong dream of becoming a homeowner. Life is good!
